THE COMPARISON OF MDA PRODUCTION IN A SKIN GRAFT AND A SKIN FLAP AND THE EFFECT OF EXYGEN FREE-RADICAL SCAVENGER AND ANTIOXIDANT IN THE MOUSE

Abstract
The purposes of this study are trifold; First to observe and test the changes in the production of malondialdehyde. This observation can be happened in two seperate occasions of lipid peroxidation respectively; i.e., on the spot of skin graft and skin flap. And then, antioxidant and oxygen-free radical scavenger are treated on the spot of skin graft, the production of malondialdehyde was observed. These two observation were happened under the hypothesis that the presence of oxygen-free radicals is associated with the hyperpigmentation which is followed by a skin graft operation. Second, on the basis of two seperate observations, the paper tries to find out factors of bringing about the poorer results, in case of a skin graft operation comparing with that of a skin flap. And finally a proper plausable prevention method from a poor result in the skin graft operation is searched.

As a result of the aformentioned three separate occasions of observations, the outcomes of this test include as follow;

First; it proves that a conspicuosly higher level of malondialdehyde was produced in a skin graft operation than of a skin flap.

Second; oxygen-free radicals generated in the grafted skin causes a hyperpigmentation and cytotoxic effect. This finding suggests that it is highly probable for a skin graft

operation to fesult in a poorer operation result than that of a skin flap.

And finally, this test is highly suggestive that the treatment of antioxidant and oxygen-free radical scavengers may bring out a much better result of a skin graft operation, by preventing from a toxic effect of oxygen-free radicals.
